More green eggs and ham please...

Green eggs and ham [Book]

I love, love, love Dr. Seuss's book Green Eggs and Ham.  Why?  It's the first book that I can remember coming to life for me.  Although I don't remember my teacher’s name; I do remember her teachings.  She brought everything to life.  We made green eggs and ham in class on hot plates!  It was so much fun, and I went home talking none stop about the story and cooking.  Of course I had to show everyone how to make it.  I learn best with visuals and hands-on activities. Because my teacher took the time to cater to all her students’ different learning needs, I’ll forever remember her and this story.

  1. I love the look of your blog. I am still trying to figure out how things work (very new to this). Great choice for your book. The activity your teacher did was a great activity that had a big impact on you.

  3. Hi Ebony,
I love all Dr. Seuss Books! They are so many hands on activities you can do with his stories. This past year may grade level celebrated his birthday in march with a day of rotating classes where each teacher read a Dr. Seuss book and did a hands on activity with the kids. There was green eggs and ham, play dough zoo animals, stryofoam cats in hats just to name a few. The kids loved it!

  4. My son loves that book also. One day they read the book in class, and the next day they made green eggs and toast. They was unable to have ham in the classroom so the teacher use a different approach. he loved the story so much that I had to go buy the book for the house.
